Happy Earth Day everyone! I'm here with a very special message from the rest of the bears around here. We would like to remind people to treat wildlife will proper respect and to take care of the wildlife that is out there. Many of our bear cousins out in the wild are endangered now because of humans encroaching on their habitat. There are a few organizations that are trying to save our wild cousins and one of them is Vital Ground which was founded by the Seuss family in memory of their friend, Bart the Bear. I encourage everyone on this Earth Day to go out there and do something to appreciate bears!

Well, it is finally starting to feel like spring around here! My mom and I looked at the forecast and it looks like rain showers for most of the rest of this week so us bears will have to stay home and maybe bake some cookies. I helped my mommy bake a batch of cupcakes for one of her co-workers yesterday and despite getting frosting on my fur, I think they came out pretty good. I think until spring, I'm going to hide back in the covers and wait until it warms up. Or until it's time for Busch Gardens!!!

Well, we had a very nice Valentine's Day around here even though I didn't get to see my girlfriend. She did send me a beary e-card so that's all right. I spent most of the night with Mommy and Daddy and then curling up in my knitted blankie and getting some much needed rest. Mommy has a cold right now so I've had to take care of her, but that's ok, that's what bears are best at!
Now that Valentine's Day is over, I guess I'll have to start cleaning up the cobwebs in my den and getting things ready for spring. Mommy is anxious for spring to get here because she says I'm going to help her out in the yard this year! I'm a little scared though because there are so many bugs out there, but she said that we'll go out early before it gets really buggy out there and I can help plant some flowers. She said she'll even give me my own plot of land that I can plant any kind of flower or veggie that I want out back! I'm really excited, although I know it'll be a lot of work. So, I'm trying to plan what I'm going to plant back there. It's very exciting. Now, if spring would hurry up and get here! :)

Wow, hibearnation lasted much longer than I thought it would! Well, it was a good nap in any case and it has given my mommy some needed rest too, she is always way too busy! I keep telling her that she shouldn't work so hard and she should spend more time with her bears, but you know how humans are. Anyway, I am now getting ready for Valentine's Day with my sweetie and it's almost Girl Scout cookie time, so I'm looking forward to those yummy cookies!

Bad news here, my Mommy and Daddy got in a fender bender on their way into work this morning. They slid on some black ice and bumped into someone! Yikes. So, I'm home taking care of my Mommy because she isn't feeling too good after the accident. At least the snow outside looks pretty, even if it hurt people.

Boy have we been busy preparing for Thanksgiving! My mommy has been making chocolates and we picked up a yummy pumpkin pie from Mom's Apple Pie Company on Monday night and I think we are all set for the holiday. I've also found a new friend in Marshmallow Bear who was rescued from Borders last Friday. He's a very likeable bear and I think he'll fit in very nicely around here. He's still a little shy, being a new stuffie and all, but he's really getting to be quite a character around here. He's been helping out a lot with taking care of Mommy and Daddy while they've been trying to shake a nasty cold and he promises that he'll help me put up the winter village this weekend. Who would know better about a winter village than a snow bear? :)
